Share Your Spare: How You Can Become a Lifesaving Kidney Donor

Updated: Apr 13

Mark Williams began his journey with kidney issues over 20 years ago, in 2006 when he developed high blood pressure. He is a family man with a wife of 51 years, four children and eight grandchildren. He currently has Stage 5 End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).

Due to Mark's current health conditions, many of the family activities he was able to do and enjoy before his sickness are now very limited, including the water well ministry in Uganda and other under-developed areas around the world.

If we are fortunate enough to receive a kidney from a living donor, we desire to continue the well ministry. Our prayers are that you would thoughtfully consider being a donor.

For more information regarding our water well ministry click the Home button at the top of this page. If you are viewing this post on a mobile device, click the three horizontal lines menu button at the top right corner of this page, and click the Home button.

What is ESRD?

This stands for End Stage Renal Disease.

Symptoms of ESRD:

  • In later stages, kidney failure may occur, requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant.

Things to know:

  • Kidney donors will not have a shorter or lower quality of life from donating a kidney; they will give years of dialysis-free life to the recipient.

  • Donors can return to their normal activities, diets, and lifestyles with 3-4 weeks of

    surgery.

  • All costs (testing, surgery and aftercare) are covered by my insurance.

Thanks to all who have been screened. Please share to expand my chances of finding a donor!
